Yule Love It

Justin has been gracious enough to let me help with the '06 Christmas Mix. I hope I can do him (and you) justice with my selections. In case you don't like it, Justin will be back in charge shortly. Just remember though, he lives in North Carolina. It doesn't even snow there. I'm just sayin' is all...

"Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues from If I Should Fall from Grace with God [BUY]
I can't even remember the first time I heard this song. No doubt it was from my oldest brother, Mark. I was probably about 10 years old and I would imagine it was one of the first times i came across the word "fa**ot", definitely the first time in a Christmas song. Still one of my favorites tunes of all time. In fact, for me it transcends the holiday genre. It is just a love song as far as I'm concerned.

"Merry Christmas, Baby" by Otis Redding from White Christmas/Merry Christmas Baby, Single [BUY]
What's Christmas without a little soul? My hope is to compliment Justin's Clarence Carter track with this one. I think this has been one of my holiday staples for about 4 years, ever since Clapper let me "borrow" that Otis boxset (If I don't still have it I probably sold it). Merry Christmas, Clapper.

MAYBE JUST A HALF A DRINK MORE:Christmas 2006
1) "Christmas All Over Again" by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
2) "Back Door Santa" by Clarence Carter
3) "Baby It's Cold Outside" by Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel
4) "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee
5) "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues
6) "Merry Christmas, Baby" by Otis Redding

The Paul McCartney song is bloody awful and should never be inflicted upon anyone.
