** I've been getting a lot requests to repost this, so here ya go**
(originally posted Feb.17, 2008)
Before She opened for Sufjan, or toured as a member of the Polyphonic Spree, Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) was a student crafting her skills at Berklee School of Music. I recently came across a 3 song EP that Clark self-released in 2003 titled 'Ratsliveonnoevilstar' (all one word [I believe] - it's a palindrome - read the same from back to front). Other Berklee students back her on the release, including jazz bassist Mark Kelley and drummer Walker Adams.
Here's the complete EP. It's an early indication of the great vocal/guitar arrangements later found on 'Marry Me'.
"Bliss" by Annie Clark (aka St.Vincent) from 'Ratsliveonnoevilstar' EP 2003 {mp3}
"Circle" by Annie Clark (aka St.Vincent) from 'Ratsliveonnoevilstar' EP 2003 {mp3}
"Count (revisited)" by Annie Clark (aka St.Vincent) from 'Ratsliveonnoevilstar' EP 2003 {mp3}
**If you haven't yet, go buy 'Marry Me'. Believe me, you need this album. **

By any chance is that disc for sale? ; )
Or can we at least hear the other two tracks?
Great find! Thanks for sharing! I love her!
There's a full-band arrangement of that song on a comp of Berklee students.

I like this unadorned version better.
Can I also request that you post the other two songs? I tried finding this EP myself awhile back with no luck.
This isn't coming up for me, but I'm having no trouble hearing your other files. ?
full ep is up. enjoy and support her.
Thanks for posting this! Love love love her.
This reminds me of Jeff Buckley.
Thank you for posting the rest!!
thanks nicholas! i'm excited about these other two tracks!
I actually just got back from seeing St. Vincent here in Chicago, and the drummer mentioned in the post, Walker Adams, was still performing with her.
these don't seem to work - or maybe i'm being an idiot. either way, does anyone know where or how i can listen to these songs?
thanks!
