What Shall I Do?

1."Hush" by Basia Bulat live on CBC radio {mp3} [BUY]

The inevitable has no sympathy or answers. All the knowledge that we hold ourselves up with can't save you from what's already been done. That feeling of death is going to creep it's way into your heart no matter how hard you try to stop it. See what happens when you silence yourself and let it in.

2."Second Chance" by Liam Finn from the album I'll Be Lightning {mp3} [BUY]

How much of yourself do you actually prove by knowing some one else?

p.s. the last 30 seconds of this song need to be remixed into some sick ass dance song. now.

3."Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow from the album The Seldom Seen Kid {mp3} [BUY]

I equate this song to my third shot of the night. I'm looking for a hole out of which I can step away from everything. Only problem with the third shot is that I can't quite squeeze away. Everything just keeps repeating until you wake up the next morning thinking about what an idiot you've become.

4."Nighthawks" by Two Hours Traffic from the album Little Jabs {mp3} [BUY]

Do you know any nighthawks? Yeah, I wish they weren't so obvious either.

5."80's Celebration" by The Reduction Agents from the album The Dance Reduction Agents {mp3} [BUY]

I wish I wasn't so nostalgic for things that happened just yesterday or 6 years ago for that matter.

6."Magic Boyfriend" by Matt Pond PA from the If You Want Blood EP {mp3} [BUY]

It's a bit too effortless to just wish and wish. But I do it anyway.

7."You Send Me" by Sam Cooke (demo version) {mp3} [BUY]

It's lasted so long because of how many times you've taken me there. Thank-you.

8."The Fire" by Caithlin De Marrais from the album My Magic City {mp3} [BUY]

Realizing that life is not yours when it could have been is just about the f!*king worst thing ever.
Although back to #1, if you hush for awhile, it's all relative.

If you like the song, I’d be ever so grateful if you could
make a donation to my mom’s non-profit organization,
The Evergreen Network. — Caithlin

Really, leave it up to Sam Cooke to not only snatch my attention, but to get a smile to creep onto my face. He is truly amazing.

Brilliant mix, especially that Basia song. I remember hearing her on CBC about a year ago and falling in love instantly. Thanks for the interview/thoughts in the previous post. It's good to know that she's as awesome as I'd imagined her to be.

Thanks Jad! Good to see you around these parts again! And don't worry...Basia is the real deal all around.

    Hey J-
Great interview! I hope I get to read more of these pieces from you in the future. I think you'll found something here...
Like jad, I also listened to Basia on CBC3 last year and she's sweet. They used to play a song titled 'The Pilgriming Vine' that I remember getting some rotation. I'm also diggin-
